Getting it over with

I want to quickly get the first post over with. It is the most intimidating! This will just be a quick telling of my life these past few days.
I've been anxiously awaiting thanksgiving break, only 11 days left! I desperately need a break that doesn't fly by like my weekends do. So in order to distract myself, I have been spending a lot of time with some new friends I have made since being here. I've spent much more time with them than normal this week. On wednesday I helped a friend with a short film she was making and joined her for the international bible study that she and another friend host at her apartment. I must say it was the most interesting and intriguing bible study I've ever attended. So I'll be going every wednesday.
The international ministry that my friends have been leading here on my campus is an amazing one. I am so pleased when watching how much these two love the international students that they have friendships with. Its an incredible thing to witness such a great love for people! I've been moved to pray about my role in such a ministry and in these students lives. Hopefully God will give me the love that He wishes me to have for these students! They are from all over, some from venezuela, mexico, africa, turkey, south korea, palestine, and japan, but even cooler is the fact that this ministry, specifically the bible study, is reaching american students that just have questions, too. I was so humbled when I went to the bible study this past wednesday. So many hard questions were asked by people that truly want to understand our faith. We don't have all the answers, and Im learning more and more that that is okay. God will work whether we have the words to say or not! He will even move us aside if our words get in the way! Needless to say I am very excited about my new friendships. I have really never had so much fun in my entire life as I have had meeting people in college. So many friendships are being made and strengthened. Such a blessing!
I have also enjoyed the opportunities to hang out with some of my new friends from campus crusade. On Friday night, a few friends and I went to austin for a great folk/experimental show at the perish. Afterwards, we had an incredible conversation while eating delicious smores! I didn't get home until 3 after we shoved our way through the drunks and into the car. It is awesome to be able to find so much community and encouragement in just 3 friends around a mini fire.
I am still getting used to the fact that there is something that I could be doing every single night that will challenge me and encourage me. So much fun is being had every day of the week! College has been incredible!
